Did you know that St Patrick Catholic Church in Dallas has a rich history spanning decades? Standing before you is not the original St Patrick’s. The first St Patrick Parish was established way back in 1882. It was Dallas’s second parish. Imagine a small frame building on Cabell Street. That was the humble beginning of this vibrant community. As the parish grew it moved to a grander location at Harwood Street. There a beautiful Gothic Revival style church was built. This magnificent structure with castle-like towers and pointed arch windows was a landmark. Sadly it was demolished in 1963 to make way for Interstate 30. The parish then relocated to Lake Highlands.

The church also features hand-carved statues created by master craftsmen. The statues of sacred figures add to the beauty of the place.
