“What began as a simple act of devotion?” It evolved into the Mushola AT-Taqwa. This place is more than just a prayer space. It stands as a testament to faith and community.
The story of Mushola AT-Taqwa intertwines with the dreams of Indonesian workers far from home. An Indonesian-Taiwanese couple initiated the mosque’s development. They owned an Indonesian shop. Their shop catered to Indonesian workers in nearby factories and households.
Driven by a deep desire, they purchased land next to their shop. They envisioned a place of worship. With the help of funding and lending, their vision took shape. A year later, the Mushola AT-Taqwa opened its doors.
Officially opened on June 9, 2013, the Mushola AT-Taqwa quickly became a focal point. It became the headquarters of the Taiwan Muslim Association on April 24, 2016. This further solidified its role.
But Mushola AT-Taqwa is more than just a place for prayer. It is a hub of activity. Besides the five daily prayers, the mosque hosts various classes. Mandarin language classes are regularly held. This helps to integrate the community. The mosque also houses the branch office of the Zakat foundation Dompet Peduli Ummat Daarut Tauhiid.
The architecture of Mushola AT-Taqwa is modest yet functional. The 130 square meter mosque is 26 meters long and five meters wide. The building comprises three stories. The first story is for male prayers. The second story accommodates female prayers and guest rooms. The third floor is dedicated to classes and dormitories.
Imagine the sense of community within those walls. Picture workers gathering after a long day. They share stories, learn new skills, and strengthen their faith. The Mushola AT-Taqwa provides a spiritual anchor. It is also a place of learning and camaraderie. It serves as a home away from home for many.
Though not located here in Jakarta, the Mushola AT-Taqwa’s story resonates. It reminds us of the power of faith. It shows us the importance of community. It highlights the dedication of those who seek to create spaces for worship and connection. The spirit of Mushola AT-Taqwa is universal. It is a beacon of hope and unity wherever it stands.
