Oakleigh’s Warrawee Park isn’t your typical park. It sits right next to the town’s cemetery. This Warrawee Park replaced an older playground. Some say it’s a downgrade, resembling something built from garage scraps and leftover paint. Yet, it has its own unique charm. Follow the painted lines on the paths. They’ll lead you to a steep metal slide, a climbing structure with a wide slide, a bird’s nest swing, and classic swings. There’s also a large carousel and a panel with educational and musical features. Warrawee Park offers a shelter with seats, unshaded tables and BBQs for picnics. You’ll also find a water tap and some unshaded seats. There’s limited grass, so it’s not ideal for sprawling picnics. Be mindful of its location, close to the road and the cemetery. Choose your fear.
