Relocated in 1967 Saint Thomas Missionary Baptist Church stands proudly on East Park Avenue. This wasn’t always its home. Before this location the church faced demolition. The LePageville Baptist Church faced a decline in its community. Houses were torn down. The church building was deemed too expensive to move. It was demolished in the late 1960s. The congregation found new life on Park Avenue. They renamed their church Saint Thomas Missionary Baptist Church. This new location marked a fresh start for a resilient community. The church became a beacon of hope and faith. It continues to serve Savannah’s residents.

Pastor Jimmie L Mikell and his congregation are known for their community outreach. The church frequently hosts events. One notable event is the “Fill My Cup Lord” mission service.
