Risen Savior began with a core group from Christ Lutheran in Savannah. They saw Pooler’s growing community as a great place to spread the word. They wanted to share the message of the Risen Savior.
The first service was held on August 1 1997. It marked the beginning of something special. The church family grew steadily.
In May 2005 Risen Savior broke ground on its own facility. This was a huge step for the congregation. It showed their commitment to the community.
The official grand opening took place on October 8 2006. It was a day of celebration and gratitude. The church finally had a place to call home.
Risen Savior continued to expand its ministry. August 2013 marked the beginning of Risen Savior Christian Academy. The academy provides a Christ-centered education. It trains lifelong disciples of Christ.
In May 2019 the church broke ground on a new academy classroom building. This showed their dedication to Christian education. The academy continued to grow.
September 2019 saw the start of a daughter congregation. May River Lutheran began in Bluffton South Carolina. Risen Savior was expanding its reach beyond Pooler.
August 2020 brought the dedication of a new academy classroom addition. The campus was growing to meet the needs of the community. Risen Savior is now a bustling community. About 150 people gather each Sunday. There are many young energetic kids.
Future plans include building a new sanctuary and gymnasium. This will allow Risen Savior to continue to expand its ministry. The church is excited to make an eternal impact in Pooler. It continues to proclaim the Risen Savior. It shows love to the community for generations to come.
