It wasn’t until 2012 that the Murphy Windmill was finally restored to its former glory. Today, while no longer functionally pumping water, the Murphy Windmill stands proud. Its sails once again turn, albeit only on weekends and holidays, a tribute to the enduring spirit of San Francisco and a reminder of its resourceful past. The Murphy Windmill’s presence continues to inspire, a silent sentinel guarding the western edge of Golden Gate Park.
