But the community of Chiche Obraje, with the help of the Fonsal, rallied to its rescue. An investment of approximately $140,000 breathed new life into the aging chapel. The rehabilitation project was a labor of love. For a year, 20 skilled workers, including 10 restorers and 5 technicians, meticulously restored the chapel to its former glory. The roof was reinforced, the walls strengthened, and the mural carefully preserved. The Capilla Católica Colonial – Virgencita del Rosario de Chiche Obraje stands proudly once more, a beacon of faith and resilience in the heart of Chiche Obraje.
