George Washington Statue

Offered by the women of the United States, the George Washington Statue stands proudly in Paris. This magnificent bronze equestrian statue commemorates the first president of the United States. It acknowledges France’s support during the American Revolutionary War. The George Washington Statue was unveiled on July 3, 1900. The statue is located in the Place d’Iéna. It depicts Washington astride his horse, facing the Place de l’Alma and the Seine River. Sculpted by Daniel Chester French, the George Washington Statue captures a powerful moment.
