Lexington

A quiet hum. That’s the first thing you notice about Lexington. It’s the hum of a town comfortably nestled between Circle Pines and Blaine, a town breathing history in the crisp Minnesota air. Here in Lexington, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Twin Cities, time seems to slow down. It’s a place where the echoes of the Dakota and Ojibwe tribes, the first inhabitants of this land, still linger. They were drawn here by the abundant fish and wild rice in the local lakes and Rice Creek. This area was once part of Blaine Township, named after the first recorded white settler, Phillip Laddy, who arrived in 1862. The township, established in 1877, encompassed the land that would eventually become Lexington, Blaine, and Circle Pines. In 1950, the residents of this small community, then numbering just 569 souls, voted to incorporate their own village. And so, on May 21, 1950, Lexington was officially born. Today, Lexington boasts a population of over 2,000. Over 780 houses and 500 families call this square-mile town home. The small-town charm has drawn people seeking a peaceful retreat, a place where community thrives.
