Hidden amongst the bustling Twin Cities lies Lauderdale. A small city with a big story. Originally known as Rose Hill it was once part of Rose Township. Named after the trader Isaac Rose. Rose Township encompassed areas now known as Roseville Falcon Heights Minneapolis St Paul Saint Anthony Village and Lauderdale itself.

Lauderdale’s history is deeply intertwined with its namesake William Henry Lauderdale. A prominent Twin Cities businessman. He generously donated land for a school and park in Rose Hill Township.
