This isn’t your average lazy river. Thunder Canyon is 1600 feet of heart-stopping drops and unexpected twists. The course is designed to maximize the chaos. It’s a thrilling experience. They use powerful pumps. These pumps generate a relentless current. It moves at 112000 gallons per minute. The ride’s backdrop isn’t hidden. It’s a dramatic million-gallon water reservoir.

There are even people stationed along the course. They’re armed with water soakers. They add to the fun. They’ll soak anyone who escapes the river relatively dry. The ride operates from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day. It’s the perfect way to cool down on a hot Minnesota summer day.

But be warned. Thunder Canyon isn’t for the faint of heart. You’ll get drenched. Boats bump. The rapids are unpredictable. You’ll be at the mercy of the current. It’s part of the fun. A shared seatbelt secures everyone in the raft. There is a minimum height requirement of 46 inches. You need three functioning limbs to ride. Some exceptions apply for those with amputations below the knee. Those with neck braces or broken collar bones can’t ride.
