The \u00c9glise Saint-S\u00e9bastien replaced a chapel from 1511. This earlier chapel honored Saint S\u00e9bastien. People prayed to him during times of plague. They hoped he would protect them. The church became a parish around 1568. Before that, it served the Lords. These Lords were also canons.
Look at the dome. It has eight sides. This octagonal dome dates back to 1625. Notice the bell tower. It features glazed tiles. These tiles are in the style of Burgundy. That style is rare in this region. The bell tower was built in 1685.
The campanile is also interesting. The town acquired it in 1765. Jean-Baptiste Oddo crafted it. He was a master locksmith from Marseille. People consider it one of the region’s most beautiful. The facade dates to the 18th century.
