What started as a vision became Trinity University of Asia. This institution stands as a beacon of Protestant education in the Philippines. We are at 275 E. Rodriguez Sr. Boulevard in Quezon City. This is the heart of Trinity University of Asia.

Trinity University of Asia began as Trinity College of Quezon City in 1963. It gained university status in 2006. The university’s roots trace back to 1907. That was when St. Luke’s College of Nursing was established.

The university’s establishment links to the American Protestant mission era. After the United States gained control of the Philippines in 1898 Protestant missionaries found new opportunities. They established institutions like St. Luke’s Medical Center in 1903. Trinity University of Asia maintains close ties with this hospital today.

Trinity College of Quezon City was made possible by Rt. Rev. Lyman C. Ogilby’s family. He was then Bishop of the Philippine Episcopal Church. Their donation bought the former Capitol City College. Initially the college had 1700 students.

Trinity University of Asia has many buildings. Wayland Mandell Hall houses the Main Library. Noble Gym supports athletics. Ann Keim Barsam Hall is for the Colleges of Education and Business Administration. The Health Science Building serves Nursing and Medical Technology.

Trinity University of Asia also has international connections. It maintains affiliations with Central Philippine University and Silliman University. These are also American-founded universities. The university participates in the International Partnership for Service-Learning. It actively engages with the Association of Christian Universities and Colleges in Asia.

The name “Trinity” pays homage to Trinity College in Connecticut. Bishop Ogilby’s father was president there. In 2006 Trinity College of Quezon City became Trinity University of Asia.

Trinity University of Asia’s seal symbolizes its mission. Green represents life. Gold stands for royalty. White signifies purity. The shield at the center shows dignity. A triangle represents the Triune God. A bishop’s miter indicates the university’s church affiliation.

Trinity University of Asia continues its dedication. It provides excellent education. It maintains strong ties to its Protestant heritage. It prepares students for service to God and country. It embraces its role as a leading educational institution in Asia. The university is committed to knowing and doing truth.
