This striking building once housed the Kulturwissenschaftliches Kolleg Konstanz, a vibrant hub of intellectual exploration. Established in 2007 as part of a German federal initiative for excellence in research, the Kulturwissenschaftliches Kolleg thrived until 2019. The Kolleg offered a unique opportunity for postdoctoral researchers. They could take a year-long sabbatical from their regular duties, fully funded by the Kolleg itself. This allowed them to delve into specific research projects proposed during their application process. It wasn’t just for up-and-coming academics. Established scholars from both Germany and abroad could also apply for this prestigious fellowship. The Kulturwissenschaftliches Kolleg embraced a wide spectrum of disciplines.
