Consider this: a stadium echoing with the cheers of yesterday. That’s Stadion Benteng Reborn. Once upon a time, Stadion Benteng was simply Stadion Benteng.

This Tangerang stadium stands as a testament to Indonesian football. It’s more than just concrete and grass. It’s a place where dreams were born and legends were made. The city government owns Stadion Benteng Reborn.

Stadion Benteng Reborn hosts football matches. Persikota Tangerang proudly calls this stadium home. Though it holds 7500 fans, it once failed to meet league standards.

Imagine the roar of the crowd. Feel the electric atmosphere as Persikota takes the field. This stadium pulsates with local pride.

Stadion Benteng’s story took a turn. It underwent renovations. Only the West and East stands remain. The South and North were torn down. With this facelift came a new name: Stadion Benteng Reborn. The word Reborn adds a modern touch.

The stadium’s name comes from Tangerang’s nickname Benteng. This makes it easily recognizable to the community.

Picture this stadium in its prime. It had a classic design. A football field. An office for the Indonesian Football Association of Tangerang. A VIP covered stand.

Spanning 44000 square meters, the stadium is large.

A dark chapter in Stadion Benteng’s history involves fan violence. In the 2012-2013 season, Persita and Persikota were banned from playing here. Tangerang police and the Indonesian Ulema Council issued the ban. Clashes between Persita’s Benteng Viola and Persikota’s Benteng Mania led to the tragic decision.

Persita was promoted to the Indonesian Super League. They were forced to play half their games at Krakatau Steel Stadium. They moved to Mashud Wisnusaputra Stadium in Kuningan. Persikota moved their home games to Badak Stadium in Pandeglang.

Let’s talk about legends. Mukti Ali Raja. Firman Utina. Ilham Jaya Kesuma. Zaenal Arief. Nova Zainal. These players graced Stadion Benteng with their talent.

Ilham Jaya Kesuma remembered his time with Persita at Stadion Benteng. He lived in the stadium for almost a year.

Then Tangerang split into two in 2015. There was Tangerang Kota and Kabupaten. The stadium fell within the city but remained under the regency’s ownership.

Today, Stadion Benteng is a symbol. It represents Tangerang’s footballing heart. It’s a place where memories linger and the spirit of the game lives on.
