It was moved to its present location in the 1920s during the construction of the Fourth Vakıf Han in Eminönü.

His grave is in the hazire the cemetery area within the mosque grounds. Zeynep Sultan’s own tomb has a moving story. Her remains were temporarily kept in a cellar because of road construction. They await the construction of a new fitting tomb. The grave of her second husband Melek Mehmet Pasha who served as Grand Vizier under Selim III is also located within the mosque’s hazire.
