Is there a more serene setting for the Universal House of Justice than this? Perched on the slopes of Mount Carmel, the Universal House of Justice isn’t just a building. This is the heart of the Baháʼí Faith, a beacon of unity and a testament to the vision of Baháʼu’lláh. Imagine a world guided by principles of peace, justice, and the oneness of humanity. That’s the vision this place embodies. It’s no coincidence that the Universal House of Justice was first elected in 1963, a time of great change and upheaval in the world. Baháʼu’lláh, the founder of the Baháʼí Faith, foresaw the need for a body capable of offering guidance and legislating on issues not addressed in the sacred writings. And so, every five years, representatives from around the globe gather here, on Mount Carmel, to elect the nine individuals who will serve on the Universal House of Justice. Their task is not to rule, but to serve. They interpret the scriptures, guide the community, and strive to apply the principles of the Baháʼí Faith to a world in desperate need.
