The small stone house by the lake once housed the fire sprinkler of the inhabitants of Agri. This is Agri Kirke, a medieval church dating back to the 13th century. The name ‘Agri’ comes from the same word as ‘ager’, meaning a bounded piece of land. Agri Kirke sits amidst the breathtaking landscape of Mols Bjerge National Park. Standing tall and proud, its Romanesque choir and nave, built from raw boulders, tell tales of a bygone era. In the 14th century, vaults were added, giving the church a unique acoustic that reverberates with a special charm. Its tower and the porch, additions from the 18th century, complete the picture.
