This prestigious recognition speaks volumes about the quality of education provided within these walls. In 2013, Bishop Dunne Catholic School embarked on a transformative journey, thanks to a generous $6 million grant from Bishop Kevin Farrell. This investment breathed new life into the school, with upgrades to essential infrastructure. Electrical systems were modernized, cabling and wiring were enhanced, and a brand-new HVAC system ensured a comfortable learning environment. The school also installed a comprehensive sprinkler system for added safety. But the transformation didn’t stop there. Classrooms at Bishop Dunne Catholic School were revitalized. Cutting-edge technology teaching walls were installed. LEEDS environmental and acoustical standards were implemented, and new ceilings and flooring created a fresh and inspiring atmosphere. Bishop Dunne Catholic School is designed around a three-pillar format, which forms the four main hallways of the campus. Nestled within the school’s grounds are three courtyards. Two of these tranquil spaces hold special significance: the Vincent Langbein Memorial Garden and the Father Tim Gollob Garden Sanctuary. These gardens, named in honor of dedicated former employees, serve multiple purposes. They function as outdoor classrooms for biology lessons, offer quiet retreats for reflection, and provide a peaceful patio for students to enjoy their lunch. Bishop Dunne Catholic School’s commitment to sustainability is evident in the xeriscaping of these gardens, minimizing their carbon footprint. At the heart of the campus lies the chapel, a sanctuary for spiritual growth and contemplation. Students gather here for monthly confession and theology classes. Weekly rosaries, reflections on biblical readings, and solemn prayers enrich the spiritual lives of the students. The gymnasium at Bishop Dunne Catholic School has also undergone significant improvements, featuring professional-grade wood flooring, climate control, and modern bleachers. The Orender Field House complements the gymnasium with a dedicated dance room, an additional weight and training room, and a well-equipped locker room. Bishop Dunne Catholic School boasts three fields used by its various sports teams. The Earl Hayes Stadium hosts football, soccer, and track and field events. Adjacent to the stadium, the Steve Macko Baseball Field and the softball field provide dedicated spaces for these popular sports. The school’s athletic prowess is undeniable.
