You may know it as Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, but in its early days, this church was quite the traveler. It started in 1985 when the Texas District of the Missouri Synod found an ideal spot in Arlington for a new church. After buying nine acres of land, a group of fourteen people began meeting at the pastor’s home for Bible Study. The first Sunday services were held in Foster Elementary School, and by 1988, the congregation held its first services at a storefront facility on New York Avenue. It wasn’t until 1991 that the church found its permanent home here on New York Avenue. The groundbreaking took place in 1990 and the congregation moved into its new building just one year later. So even though the church has been here for over thirty years, it started as a small group of people who shared a strong faith: a testament to the power of community.

Is it possible for a place to hold so much history in just one acre? You might not think so,
