“Securing peace of mind” is not just a motto. It is a mission embodied by the men and women of the Chikushino Police Station.

Welcome to the Chikushino Police Station in Fukuoka. It stands as a pillar of safety for the cities of Chikushino and Dazaifu. The Chikushino Police Station is more than just a building. It is a vital part of the community.

Let us delve into the story of this important institution. The history of the Chikushino Police Station dates back to 1875. It began as the Amagi Police Branch Office Dazaifu Branch Station. Over the years it underwent several name changes. In 1886 it became the independent Futsukaichi Police Station.

The enforcement of the Police Act in 1948 led to a split. It became the Chikushi District Police Station and autonomous police forces. These forces served Dazaifu Town and Futsukaichi Town. However in 1954, a consolidation occurred. The Futsukaichi Police Station was reborn.

In 1955, the town and village mergers brought another change. The station adopted its current name the Chikushino Police Station. In 1989, the station moved to its present location. It was formerly the site of the Fukuoka Prefectural Agricultural Experiment Station.

In 2014, a significant restructuring took place. The cities of Kasuga and Onojo and Nakagawa Town came under the jurisdiction of the newly established Kasuga Police Station. On the same day, the rank of the station chief changed from police superintendent to police chief.

Today, the Chikushino Police Station serves Chikushino City and Dazaifu City. This area acts as a bedroom community for Fukuoka City. This brings unique challenges in maintaining peace and order.

The Chikushino Police Station has several divisions. These include General Affairs First and Second Division and Detention Management Division. There are also divisions for Community Safety, Juvenile Affairs and Criminal Affairs. Traffic and Security Divisions ensure public well-being.

There is also the Tenpai police box and Haruda police box. Mikasa and Yamaga residential police boxes are present. The Yamaguti residential police box completes the list.
