“Lost in prayer?” a gentle voice asked, pulling me back to the present. I stood before Masjid Al-Hidayah Dirgantara, its name echoing the celestial aspirations of its design. Masjid Al-Hidayah Dirgantara isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a community hub, a sanctuary nestled within the bustling heart of Jakarta. The mosque’s large prayer hall can accommodate up to 420 people. The expansive courtyard provides ample parking and hosts a vibrant array of food vendors. This makes Masjid Al-Hidayah Dirgantara an ideal place for respite and nourishment, both spiritual and physical. This minor drawback doesn’t diminish the mosque’s significance. Masjid Al-Hidayah Dirgantara remains a beloved place of worship and community gathering. In 2021, Masjid Al-Hidayah Dirgantara faced a difficult decision. In support of the government’s PPKM (Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities) program during the Covid-19 pandemic, they cancelled the Salat Idul Adha. This decision, though difficult, demonstrated the mosque’s commitment to public health and safety. It also highlighted the challenging times faced by communities around the world during the pandemic. Despite temporary closures and restrictions, Masjid Al-Hidayah Dirgantara continues to serve its community. It stands as a beacon of faith and resilience.
