Perhaps you’ve heard of the Universidad del Valle de México? It began its journey in 1960. A group of academics and business people founded it. José Ortega Romero led the charge.

Originally, it was called Institución Harvard. It kept that name until 1968. That’s when it became the Universidad del Valle de México UVM.

UVM has grown quite a bit since then. It now serves around 129000 students. These students study at the high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. The Universidad del Valle de México is part of the Laureate International Universities network. This network connects many private higher education institutions.

UVM offers a wide array of programs. These include middle, higher, and postgraduate education. You can find their 37 campuses throughout the country. They have divisions like Health Sciences and Engineering. Hospitality, Tourism, and Gastronomy are also popular. Other divisions include Business, Social Sciences, Art, Design, and Architecture. Many online degrees and postgraduate programs are available. The school is well-regarded for training professionals.

Many notable people have graduated from UVM. Ricardo Anaya Cortés is one such alumnus. He is a Mexican politician. Iván Alejandro García Navarro and Germán Saúl Sánchez Sánchez are also alumni. The Universidad del Valle de México started with 212 students. There were 23 teachers and 14 administrative staff. They offered programs in accounting and business administration. Over time, they focused on high school and higher education.

UVM started expanding in 1976. They opened campuses in Mexico City and other areas. Joining Laureate International Universities helped UVM a lot. It allowed for more exchange programs and multiple degrees.

Today, the Universidad del Valle de México has a broad presence. It has campuses in many states. These include Aguascalientes, Puebla, and Toluca. You can also find them in Guadalajara, Saltillo, and Hermosillo. They are in Torreón, Nogales, and Mexicali too. Cuernavaca, Monterrey, and other cities host UVM campuses.
