“Adventure in God’s grace.” These are the words Ross and Aimee Parsley use to describe their journey with One Chapel Austin. This is where their story began in 2010.
One Chapel Austin started as a church plant. They met in a movie theater at Barton Square Mall. Imagine services with the aroma of popcorn and the big screen as a backdrop. As One Chapel Austin grew they moved locations. But their mission remained the same. They wanted to be a place where people who love Jesus serve faithfully. They wanted to worship with their whole hearts.
Ross and Aimee Parsley moved to Austin in 2010. They were ready to plant a life-giving church. Before Austin, Ross was the worship pastor of New Life Church in Colorado Springs. He even led worship on several Integrity Music recordings. These included “I Am Free” and “My Savior Lives.”
After moving to Austin Ross wrote a book. It was titled “Messy Church: A Multigenerational Mission for the Family of God.” In it he encouraged a family paradigm for churches. He hoped to move away from consumer-driven and corporate ministry models. Ross is the campus pastor in Austin and the lead pastor of One Chapel. He serves alongside Aimee. Together they have five children Zachary Taylor Grace Ethan and Owen.
One Chapel Austin has a clear vision. They want every generation to have a place to grow connect and thrive. They see themselves as one church family united in faith. They strive to create Sundays. Sundays are more than songs and sermons. They are about encountering God’s love and truth in a way that transforms you.
One Chapel also emphasizes community. They want everyone to feel welcome and wanted. They encourage people to find others who care support and grow in faith together. One Chapel offers a membership path. It helps people get connected and rooted in their local community. The path involves visiting a Sunday service having coffee with the pastors attending Team 101 and participating in Wednesday nights.
One Chapel Austin hosts several weekly gatherings. OC Youth is for middle and high school students. OC Young Adults is for young adults young professionals and young marrieds. Acts 2:42 offers worship scripture discussion fellowship and prayer. Mission Moments focuses on OC Missions and Local Outreach.
Today One Chapel Austin continues to grow. It remains committed to its original mission. It is a place where people can experience God’s presence find community and grow in their faith.
