Gazing at the Instituto São Pio X, one might wonder about the stories held within these walls. The Instituto São Pio X isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to the power of education and community. The story of Instituto São Pio X began in 1961. The Benedictine Sisters of Divine Providence purchased a vibrant, fruit-bearing farm in Quitaúna, Osasco. Their vision was to build a training center for future sisters. São Paulo, with its bustling atmosphere and opportunities, provided the perfect backdrop. The first community of sisters arrived on March 13, 1962. They quickly began their apostolate: “To welcome, assist, and educate children and youth.” Preparations for a small school, named “Instituto São Pio X,” commenced on December 12, 1962. The school opened its doors to 47 children on March 3, 1963, under the leadership of Sister Nazaré Amboni. The Instituto São Pio X received official recognition in 1965. The school expanded over the years. A new pavilion in 1970 accommodated 419 students. The school added a complete first-grade program in 1979. Another pavilion followed in 1980, increasing capacity to 2,334 students. A sports center was inaugurated in 1984. In 1990, a new pavilion housed new classrooms, a library, a museum, a chapel, and an auditorium. The Instituto São Pio X introduced a second-grade program (now high school) in 1992. Leadership changed hands throughout the years, each director guiding the school through evolving educational landscapes. Today, the Instituto São Pio X stands as a symbol of modern architecture and quality education. It has evolved from a small schoolhouse to a multifaceted institution. The Instituto São Pio X continues its mission. It embraces its rich history while adapting to the ever-changing world of education.
