The story of Arlington Park First Baptist Church is one of resilience and growth. Standing tall on Van Winkle Boulevard, this church has seen its fair share of change over the years. Arlington Park First Baptist Church began humbly in the 1950s, with a small group gathering in a house on Sleepy Hollow Drive. Their numbers swelled, and within months, they were forced to seek a larger space. They found it in a tent, thanks to the generous donation of a local woman who had a missionary’s heart. The tent became a meeting place where people came together to worship, study the Bible, and grow in their faith. In 1952, the Peaceful Rest District Association organized Arlington Park First Baptist Church, marking the official start of their journey. Their first permanent building was a small structure near Record Crossing and Van Winkle Boulevard, which they were able to purchase thanks to their dedicated community’s donations. This church was not only growing in size but also in spirit. The congregation, guided by Pastor H.W. Bell, built a larger sanctuary in 1964, which remains its home today. Arlington Park First Baptist Church stands as a testament to God’s faithfulness and the power of faith. From its humble beginnings to the thriving church family it is today, it has remained a beacon of hope in Dallas and beyond.
