“Have you heard the story of the Alquran that refused to burn?” That’s how many locals begin when talking about Musholla Al Hasanah. This seemingly ordinary prayer house in Kemayoran holds an extraordinary tale. It is a story of faith, resilience, and a touch of the miraculous.
Musholla Al Hasanah is more than just a place of worship. It’s a symbol of hope for the community. Its history is interwoven with the lives of the people who live here. It stands as a testament to their unwavering spirit.
The story takes us back to a fateful night. It was Tuesday, January 21, 2025. A firestorm engulfed Kampung Gempol in Kemayoran. Homes were reduced to ashes. Possessions were lost. Fear gripped the hearts of residents. Amidst the chaos, Musholla Al Hasanah stood in the path of the inferno. Flames licked at its walls. Smoke billowed around it.
After the fire was extinguished a startling discovery was made. Inside Musholla Al Hasanah, a wooden cabinet stood untouched by the blaze. Its glass front remained intact. Within the cabinet resided copies of the Alquran, Yasin prayer books, and other religious texts. Miraculously none of these were damaged.
The surrounding area told a different story. The loudspeakers above the cabinet were charred. The doors and furniture were burned. The walls were blackened with soot. Yet the holy books remained unscathed.
The news spread like wildfire. People flocked to Musholla Al Hasanah to witness the phenomenon. They marveled at the sight. They whispered prayers of gratitude. They saw it as a sign.
But the history of Musholla Al Hasanah goes back further than the fire. Cipto, a local resident, recalls its establishment. It was inaugurated in 1983 by Try Sutrisno. Sutrisno was then the Pangdam Jaya military commander. He later became the Vice President of Indonesia. An inscription commemorating the event is displayed prominently.
Today, Musholla Al Hasanah continues to serve its community. It is a place for prayer. It is also a shelter for those in need. During the fire’s aftermath, it became a refuge for displaced residents. It is a distribution point for aid.
Musholla Al Hasanah is not just a building. It is a beacon of hope. It is a reminder that even in the darkest of times faith can endure. The tale of the unburnt Alquran continues to inspire awe and reverence. It reinforces the belief in the power of divine protection.
