Didn’t small towns always wish they could do more? The Communauté de communes Sausseron Impressionnistes stands as a testament to the power of collaboration. It is a group of towns working together. The CCSI helps its member towns achieve more than they could alone.
The Communauté de communes Sausseron Impressionnistes includes 15 communes. These are Arronville Auvers-sur-Oise Butry-sur-Oise Ennery Epiais-Rhus Frouville Génicourt Hédouville Hérouville Labbeville Livilliers Menouville Nesles-La-Vallée Vallangoujard and Valmondois. In total almost 20000 people live here.
Why did these towns form a communauté de communes? Small towns often struggle to provide all the services their residents expect. By joining forces they can act in areas like childhood services. Grouping together also creates economies of scale. Roadwork costs less when towns work together. Approaching issues on a larger scale proves more effective. Economic activity benefits from a regional approach.
The Communauté de communes Sausseron Impressionnistes is a joint project. Local leaders wanted to act together. The community’s territory was defined during a reform. This reform deeply reshaped intercommunalities in Ile-de-France in 2016.
The CCSI has powers transferred from its member towns. When towns transfer a power the Communauté acts alone in that area. There is no overlap of powers. The law requires towns to transfer some powers over several years.
The Communauté de communes Sausseron Impressionnistes focuses on several actions. It manages an economic activities park in Ennery. This park has a remarkable environmental charter. The CCSI promotes tourism with regional partners. It supports early childhood with crèches in Ennery and Auvers. Leisure centers and parent-child centers are also part of this. An École de musique exists too.
The CCSI manages roads outside villages. This lowers costs through shared resources. It also develops non-motorized transport routes. Trash collection is another service provided. The Communauté is developing video protection for roads. Development of fiber optics is underway. Various resources are shared among the towns.
The Communauté de communes Sausseron Impressionnistes does not replace towns. It strengthens rural towns by modernizing local government. Towns remain the primary place for local administration. The CCSI is a tool to help towns provide better service at a lower cost.
