Amidst the vibrant tapestry of Dallas, Central Bible Church stands as a testament to faith and community. A journey through time reveals its humble beginnings, far from the bustling cityscapes. In 1906, a small group of believers gathered in a simple brush arbor, a thatched-roof structure without walls, near the intersection of Bowen Road and Park Row in Pantego. Central Bible Church’s story began in this unassuming space, a testament to the power of faith over material possessions. The congregation persevered, replacing the brush arbor with a more permanent roof in 1907, still calling it the Tabernacle. Their dedication led to the construction of their first official building in 1930. As the church blossomed, a move became necessary. In 1959, Central Bible Church found a new home at 2203 W. Park Row in central Pantego. Growth continued, prompting the construction of a new Worship Center in 1975 and the conversion of the old sanctuary into a Fellowship Hall. By the early 1993, the need for space led the church to consider relocating once more. A task force recommended a property at Eastchase and I-30, leading to the groundbreaking ceremony in 1999 and the first service in their current building on Palm Sunday, April 8, 2001. The church’s journey culminated with the addition of The Connection, an annex for adult and children’s ministries, in 2009. Finally, in 2019, Pantego Bible Church embraced a new identity, becoming Central Bible Church, reflecting its central role in the lives of approximately 1,800 worshippers each week. Central Bible Church has been guided by its core values: surrendered to God’s word, strengthened by biblical community, overwhelmed by God’s glory, transformed for missional discipleship, committed to human dignity, and compelled by Gospel generosity. Their journey, from a simple brush arbor to a modern ministry center, exemplifies the enduring power of faith, community, and service.
