Back in 1910, the idea for the Parroquia San Miguel Arcángel began with Presbyter Antonino D’Elia. He was a vicar in the Reducto neighborhood during the Batllismo era. He gave his blessing.

Despite political and economic problems, the cornerstone was laid on February 20th 1916. Archbishop Juan Francisco Aragone blessed it. Doctor Alejandro Gallinal was a key supporter. The senator helped buy land. He also contributed to the building’s construction.
