Closed in March 2023 Epsom Primary and Nursery School once stood proudly on Pound Lane. Its story however is not over. For years it served the Epsom community. It was a community school a mixed gender primary school. Children aged 2 to 11 filled its classrooms. The school had a capacity of 600 pupils but at its closing it housed 519. Mrs Michelle Pollard was its principal. The school’s history extends beyond its recent closure. Records show a predecessor establishment also called Epsom Primary and Nursery School. This suggests a long tradition of education at this location. While its doors may be shut the legacy of Epsom Primary and Nursery School lives on in the memories of countless students and staff. The building’s future remains unwritten a blank page awaiting a new chapter. However its past is rich. It housed a SEN unit dedicated to supporting students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. A significant portion of its student body approximately 25.6% qualified for free school meals. This illustrates a commitment to inclusivity. While the school’s academic performance details are unavailable its closure marks a change. It is a transition from one phase to another in the long history of education in Epsom. The building stands silent a testament to learning and community. It awaits a new purpose a new generation of stories to tell. Remember Epsom Primary and Nursery School its spirit lives on.
