Nestled in Upper Clapton, New City College, BSix Campus, has a fascinating past. New City College, BSix Campus, wasn’t always part of a larger institution. It began its life in 2002 as BSix Sixth Form College, a standalone institution. The goal was to provide local Hackney students with a nearby place to continue their education. This was part of a larger, ultimately unrealized, government initiative to establish eleven new sixth form colleges across London. New City College, BSix Campus, occupied the former Brooke House school site, itself previously a part of Hackney College. This rich history layers the very foundations of New City College, BSix Campus. New City College, BSix Campus, distinguished itself by offering a comprehensive range of courses. From vocational studies like hair and beauty, business, and art, to a substantial number of A-Level options, it catered to diverse academic interests. The college aimed to provide broad access to education for the community. In 2024, BSix Sixth Form College became part of New City College. This merger brought the campus under the umbrella of a larger institution, expanding its resources and reach. Today, New City College, BSix Campus, boasts an impressive array of modern facilities. Students can explore the Immersive Igloo, a 360-degree learning environment designed to enhance engagement. Advanced Learning Zones equipped with cutting-edge technology offer interactive learning tools. Creative Arts Spaces, including a theatre, art studios, and digital media suites, nurture artistic talent. Dedicated Science Laboratories provide hands-on experimental learning. The Learning Resource Centre offers a wealth of resources and a quiet study environment. And comfortable Student Common Areas provide space for socializing and relaxation. From its unique origins as a standalone sixth form college to its current role as a vibrant campus within New City College, the BSix Campus continues its commitment to providing quality education.
