“I believe I’ll go back home” A song echoed in Pastor Blair’s heart. It was 1970. He felt a powerful urge to return to Dallas Texas his hometown. There he would organize a church. This was the humble beginning of the True Vine of Holiness Missionary Baptist Church.

This is the True Vine Church. It’s more than just a building. It’s a testament to faith perseverance and the unwavering spirit of its founder Pastor Dr Wendell Blair Sr.

The church’s journey began modestly. The first service was in Pastor Blair’s home. Just eight people attended that inaugural meeting held in a spare bedroom. The congregation soon moved to his living room. This small group held services there for six months. Then they relocated to a converted house. Growth was slow but steady. Pastor Blair’s unwavering faith fueled the congregation’s expansion.

After a year and four months of worshipping in their modest house of worship a breakthrough came. Pastor Blair received the means to construct the church’s first building at 831 Ann Arbor. Four years later a second even grander building was erected at 6728 Altaire Ave the very place we stand today.

The True Vine Church is a story of remarkable growth. It’s a story of overcoming obstacles. It’s a story of faith that moved mountains. It started small. It grew through Pastor Blair’s dedication and his congregation’s commitment.

Pastor Blair’s journey is inspiring. He was a high school dropout. He later earned his GED a degree in Theology and an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree. His ministry spanned almost five decades. He preached over 2600 sermons. He traveled extensively preaching across America and even internationally. He officiated countless weddings funerals and baptisms.

The True Vine Church stands as a beacon of hope. It’s a place where faith is nurtured. It’s a living testament to the power of perseverance. The church’s story is one of humble beginnings remarkable growth and unwavering faith. It continues to serve the Dallas community fulfilling its mission of spiritual guidance and community support.
