The present building for Childs Hill Baptist Church was erected in 1870. Soon after, the Granville Hall was added. It accommodated a day school called Childs Hill School. Later, the school moved to Dersingham Road.
Mr. Rickard served faithfully until 1893. Then J Sylvester Poulton arrived. He was a graduate of the Pastors College and admired Spurgeon. He served for 35 years. During his time, the congregation grew.

Since 1954, Childs Hill Baptist Church has had five pastors. All were young men, fresh from college. They were evangelical in their convictions and preaching. The present minister, Gary Brady, arrived in 1983.
Gary Brady studied nearby at the London Theological Seminary. He obtained an English Literature degree. He also trained as a teacher. He is an editor and on the board of London Seminary. Gary has also written commentaries and books.
