The Olympic Ice Sports Centre quickly became a versatile venue. It hosted table tennis world championships. Boxing competitions and basketball matches also took place here. However, it was ice hockey that truly defined this arena. For years, it was the proud home of EHC Red Bull Munich.

The Olympic Park itself is a testament to Munich’s commitment to sports and recreation. It spans 85 hectares. The park was created for the 1972 Summer Olympics. Envision the earthworks beginning in 1968. The idea was to create Olympic Games in the Green. Over 3000 large trees were planted to create the park in 1971 and 1972.

The Olympic swimming hall is available if you enjoy swimming. Swim laps or splash with your children. Aqua jogging and spinal gymnastics classes are also offered. There are programs for children, seniors and women. The Olympia sauna landscape offers relaxation.

The Olympic Stadium is a central structure in the park. Its tent roof was designed by Frei Otto. The opening and closing ceremonies of the 1972 Olympic Games were held here. The stadium later hosted FC Bayern and TSV 1860 M\u00fcnchen. Today, it hosts concerts and sporting events.

The Olympic Hall hosts many events. Concerts, musicals, theater and sports take place here. The Kleine Olympiahalle is used for smaller events.

While the Olympic Tower is currently closed for renovation until 2026, it usually provides amazing views.

Don’t forget about the SAP Garden. It opened in September 2024 on the former Olympic cycling stadium site. This is the new home for ice sports.
