In a quiet corner of Plano, Texas, rests a testament to faith and community: the Sri Ganesha Temple. Don’t let its unassuming exterior fool you. The Sri Ganesha Temple holds within it a vibrant history. It all began in the summer of 2005. A group of friends, active members of the DFW Hindu Temple, gathered for a spiritual gathering. During their time together, they discussed the growing need for a Hindu temple in the Plano area. They recognized the significant Hindu population in North Texas and felt a calling to create a dedicated space for worship. The group decided on Sri Ganesha as the main deity. In March 2006, the Sri Ganesha Temple found its first home, a humble space on West Parker Road. It didn’t take long for the temple to thrive. With the unwavering support of devotees, they acquired ten acres of land, eventually settling at their current location on K Avenue. The Sri Ganesha Temple stands as a beacon of faith. It serves as a vibrant hub for the Hindu community, offering a place for worship, learning, and cultural celebrations.
