In 1978, a beacon of faith emerged in Penang. The Tabernacle of Praise Penang, often called TOP, opened its doors. This church isn’t just a building. It’s a vibrant part of the Jelutong community. Tabernacle of Praise Penang occupies the third and fourth floors of Wisma Jelutong. The church is affiliated with Assemblies of God Malaysia and the National Evangelical Christian Fellowship Malaysia. Within its walls, services are conducted in both English and Hokkien. The main weekly service, the Celebration Service, takes place on the fourth floor. English speakers gather at 10:45 am. Hokkien speakers begin a bit earlier at 8:45 am. For the younger generation, the Children’s Church, also meets at 10:45 am on the third floor. Tabernacle of Praise Penang also offers various services throughout the week. If you’re in Penang and looking for a place of worship, consider visiting TOP at 222D Jalan Jelutong. You can contact them at +60 4 282 6595 or via email at info@toppenang.org.my.
