From the humble beginnings of Langgar Pak Tua Kiran did Masjid Jami Al Huda rise. This mosque stands as a testament to the unwavering faith and resilience of the Muhammadiyah community in Kampung Pulo. Its story is one of perseverance hardship and ultimately triumph.

For decades Masjid Jami Al Huda wasn’t always the grand structure you see today. It began as a small prayer house. This langgar served as a spiritual center for the early Muhammadiyah followers. They were a group of devout Muslims who worked tirelessly to spread their faith. Their dedication was remarkable.

Initially the Muhammadiyah community shared Masjid Al Barkah. This mosque was built through incredible effort. Members hauled Ciliwung River sand for construction. They carried it on their shoulders. The journey was almost 16 kilometers round trip. Imagine the dedication required. But differences arose between the Muhammadiyah and Ahlussunnah communities. This unfortunately led to the Muhammadiyah being forced to leave Al Barkah. This was a painful moment.

Undeterred the Muhammadiyah community sought a new place of worship. They used a family wakaf musala. This small structure proved insufficient for the growing congregation. It collapsed during Tarawih prayers.

Despite setbacks the community rallied. They collected funds and acquired land for a new mosque. The land cost Rp45.000. This new space became Musala Blandongan a simple building. Yet it became the heart of their community. In 1965 a crucial event took place. Kiai Abdul Halim a prominent religious figure visited. His advice led to Musala Blandongan’s transformation into Masjid Jami Al Huda.

Today Masjid Jami Al Huda is a two-story mosque. It serves as a center for worship education and da’wah. The mosque stands proudly. It’s a symbol of the community’s strength and their steadfast belief. It also serves as a reminder of their journey from a small langgar to a magnificent mosque. Their dedication to their faith remains inspiring. The mosque continues to serve as a place of peace and learning for generations. This place embodies the spirit of the Muhammadiyah community. It reminds us of their enduring legacy.
