The Champlin Sinclair, a beacon of nostalgia in a rapidly changing world. It’s not just a gas station! It’s a timeless monument to a bygone era, where service with a smile was valued above all else. It stands proudly along Highway 169, a testament to a simpler time, a time when communities thrived around their local businesses. Founded in the 1930s, it’s the oldest still operating business in Champlin, a city steeped in rich history. And who better to be the face of this timeless treasure than Dino? A green brontosaurus, resplendent in seasonal costumes, a testament to the community spirit that thrives here. From Easter Bunny to Santa, Dino has seen it all. The tradition of dressing Dino in colorful holiday attire began with Diana Merkl, the station’s owner. Inspired by the cold winter, she knitted Dino a scarf, and he hasn’t been without a costume ever since. Today, kids flock to the Champlin Sinclair to get their picture taken with Dino and drop off their letters to Santa.
