Dedicated to the patron saint of distillers, Szent Miklós-kápolna offers a unique blend of spirituality and Hungarian tradition. This charming chapel found its home within the Zsindelyes Cottage. It serves as a serene venue for religious events.

Szent Miklós-kápolna enjoys the support of the Greek Catholic Diocese. Its name honors Saint Nicholas. Saint Nicholas is revered as the protector of pálinka makers. Pálinka is a traditional Hungarian fruit brandy.

The chapel’s consecration was a significant event. It was celebrated on May 26 2018. Bishop Szocska A. Ábel invoked God’s blessing upon the chapel. Several ecclesiastical figures attended. Bishop Ábel played a vital role in finalizing the chapel’s design.

As an ecumenical place of worship, Szent Miklós-kápolna welcomes members of various denominations. Greek Catholics are welcome. Roman Catholics and Protestants can hold weddings here.

This small chapel lies along the Mária Út. Mária Út is the Marian Route. It is a Central European pilgrimage route. It serves as a religious resting spot for pilgrims.

But why is Szent Miklós-kápolna so important? According to owner Papp József, the vision for the tourist complex included a place for worship. They sought the help of Szocska A. Ábel. He was then an apostolic governor. He assisted with both the authorization and interior design. Bishop Ábel selected the furnishings and sacred objects with great care.

Papp József has known Bishop Ábel for over a decade. Their friendship began when Ábel was a member of the Basilian Order. József feels great pride that the newly elected Bishop Szocska A. Ábel helped build and finalize Szent Miklós-kápolna.

Szent Miklós-kápolna stands as a testament to faith. It is a welcoming space for all. Its connection to Hungarian heritage makes it truly special. So take a moment to appreciate this unique chapel.
