Envision a school brimming with activity, a hub of learning and growth. This is Hendriksholm Skole, a vital part of the Rødovre community. Hendriksholm Skole isn’t just a building; it’s a living testament to the power of education. It’s a place where young minds are nurtured and futures are shaped. Hendriksholm Skole serves as a vibrant center for 566 students, spanning from the first to the tenth grade. The school is organized into three tracks, providing diverse learning paths for its students. Hendriksholm Skole actively engages in initiatives focused on learning communities, technology and innovation, and the crucial balance of health and well-being. A dedicated pedagogical support team, known as PIT, works tirelessly to ensure every child’s learning environment is tailored for success. This team collaborates closely with the teaching staff, adapting and refining the educational landscape to meet individual needs. Beyond the core curriculum, Hendriksholm Skole champions teacher autonomy. The school developed a comprehensive plan, giving teachers more control over their time and responsibilities. This plan, a collaborative effort between teachers, the principal, and union representatives, ensures that educators have a voice in shaping their work environment. One key aspect of this plan is the reduction of teaching hours to 25 per week, with an additional hour dedicated to valuable student consultations. This allows teachers more time for individual student interaction and support. Hendriksholm Skole also prioritizes teacher well-being by removing mandatory presence requirements outside of teaching and meeting hours. This provides flexibility for teachers to manage their time and collaborate effectively. A flexible pool of 35 hours annually is allocated to each teacher for discretionary use, further empowering them to address the diverse needs of their students. At Hendriksholm Skole, education is more than just textbooks and tests. It’s about creating a supportive community where everyone feels valued and empowered.
