The Avenue du Docteur Ténine is named after Maurice Ténine. He was a doctor a communist and a member of the French Resistance. Born in Alexandria Egypt in 1907 he moved to France. He became a respected physician. He served his community in Fresnes then Antony.

Dr Ténine’s life wasn’t just about healing. His commitment to social justice led him to become a municipal councilor. He actively participated in the French Communist Party. His beliefs placed him squarely in opposition to the Nazi regime. He was a founding member of a clandestine newspaper. The paper was called Le Médecin français. It provided crucial medical information and support to the Resistance fighters.
