What if I told you that the American University of Culture & Education wasn’t always a university? It started as a dream, a vision of one man, Dr. Amjad Al-Nabulsi. In 1983, amidst the bustling energy of Beirut, he founded the Computer and Educational College of Hotel Management & Technical Studies. This humble beginning, known locally as C & E College, laid the groundwork for what would eventually become the American University of Culture & Education, or AUCE as it’s commonly called. AUCE officially gained university status in 2000, licensed by the government under Presidential Decree #3585/2000. Dr. Nabulsi’s vision extended beyond just a technical college. He wanted to create an institution that would enrich lives through engaged learning and collaborative research. AUCE now offers a wide array of undergraduate programs, everything from Accounting to Tourism, reflecting Dr. Nabulsi’s commitment to diverse educational opportunities. Interestingly, AUCE’s degrees aren’t just recognized in Lebanon. They’re also certified by ministries of education in several other Arab countries, including Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and Qatar. This speaks to the university’s regional influence and the quality of education it provides. In 2010, AUCE received another significant acknowledgment of its standards: accreditation from the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education. As you stand here, before the modern facade of AUCE, remember the journey it took to become the institution it is today. From a small technical college to a regionally recognized university, AUCE’s story reflects the spirit of innovation and the pursuit of excellence. The American University of Culture & Education continues to strive towards its founder’s vision, shaping future leaders and impacting society through the power of education.
