Beneath the vast Australian sky, nestled in Moorooduc, lies Woodleigh School’s Penbank Campus. Woodleigh School isn’t just one location. It’s a community spread across three campuses. Penbank is one of the two junior campuses, catering to younger students. This campus, along with Minimbah in Frankston South and the senior campus in Langwarrin South, make up the whole of Woodleigh School. The school itself has a rich history, dating back to 1856. It began as St. Paul’s School, operating from a hall on the grounds of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Frankston. It holds the distinction of being the first school in Frankston and one of the oldest co-educational schools in Victoria. While the senior campus is known as “Woodleigh,” the junior campuses retain their own unique names. Penbank, specifically, plays a vital role in fostering the school’s IDEALS – Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service. Woodleigh School Penbank Campus embraces a “respect for the environment,” a value woven into the fabric of the school’s history. The campus likely participates in the school-wide “Activities Week,” a biannual program offering fifty diverse experiences. These activities aren’t just fun and games. They’re designed to challenge students, encouraging them to take on active roles in decision-making, leadership, and responsibility. Woodleigh School Penbank Campus contributes to the school’s commitment to two-way learning through local, indigenous, and international partnerships. It is a place where young minds begin their journey of discovery, nurtured by a community dedicated to holistic education.
