Across the bustling streets of San Isidro, Escuela 88 Domingo Faustino Sarmiento stands as a beacon of education. This school, named after the “Schoolmaster of the Americas,” Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, has a rich history intertwined with the community. Escuela 88 Domingo Faustino Sarmiento officially began its educational journey in 1964 under the leadership of Professor José Rosario Carrasquilla. Its formal recognition came in 1959 with Decree No. 25, assigning it to Education Inspection No. 6 and placing it under the coordination of San Miguelito. Today, Escuela 88 Domingo Faustino Sarmiento thrives with a vibrant student body of 791 boys and girls, nurtured by 42 dedicated teachers. The school provides education from pre-kindergarten to sixth grade and also includes a special education classroom. Beyond academics, Escuela 88 Domingo Faustino Sarmiento fosters a lively sociocultural environment. Students participate in various enriching activities, including a Drum Band, Civil Protection, Order and Discipline Corps, Traditional Ensemble, and Values Promoters. These groups highlight the school’s commitment to holistic development. The school receives generous support from the Argentine Embassy, the Argentine Circle ladies, and the Rio-Platense ladies. These organizations collaborate to enhance the cultural and social growth of the school community. Escuela 88 Domingo Faustino Sarmiento continues to shape young minds and contribute to the vibrant community of San Isidro.
