Founded in 1960 the Universidad de Morón stands as a testament to Argentina’s commitment to higher education. This private university initially comprised just two academic units. The School of Law and Social Sciences and the School of Arts. Imagine the energy of those early days. Students eager to learn in a brand new institution.

The Universidad de Morón quickly expanded its offerings. New faculties emerged. The Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Faculty of Engineering joined in 1962. A year later in 1963 the university established the first School of Tourism in the country. This pioneering program now forms the Faculty of Applied Tourism Sciences and Population.

Growth continued throughout the 1960s. The university added faculties of Agronomy and a specialized institute for forensic techniques. The existing Faculty of Engineering and Exact Sciences was divided creating two separate faculties. The Universidad de Morón also boasts the Diocesan School of Social Service. This is independently administered by the Morón Bishopric but academically affiliated with the university.

The university’s early years were marked by a nomadic existence. Classes were initially held in various locations including a primary school and even the local Italian Society’s hall. This highlights the university’s tenacity and resourcefulness in its early years. The university even contributed to the maintenance of the primary school that it occupied.

The Universidad de Morón eventually found a permanent home. It purchased a building on Cabildo 134 in Morón. This central building stands as a symbol of the university’s enduring presence. Further expansion followed. The university acquired additional buildings and land to meet the growing needs of its student body. Today its campus boasts a substantial 26000 square meters of educational infrastructure. This includes 6000 square meters dedicated to laboratories. Its modern library is a testament to the institution’s commitment to research and academic excellence.

The university’s contributions extend beyond its walls. Its Agronomy Faculty established a park in San Justo. Students conducted practical work there cultivating vegetables that were donated to local hospitals. This exemplifies the University of Morón’s dedication to its community.

More than 51000 professionals graduated from the Universidad de Morón. Ten faculties offer a diverse range of courses. The university’s impact on Argentina’s intellectual and professional landscape is undeniable. The Universidad de Morón continues to thrive. It remains a vibrant center for learning and community engagement.
