A grand pillar, crowned with a cross, stands tall, a testament to faith and history. This is Amyand Park Chapel, a beacon of Reformed Baptist tradition nestled in the heart of St Margarets. The story of this chapel is one of resilience and transformation. It all began in 1889, with a humble gathering in a temporary iron church, a symbol of the congregation’s unwavering commitment to their beliefs. The iron church, a practical but temporary structure, served as the cradle for their faith for over 60 years. Eventually, a new, more permanent home was built, and in 1952, the beautiful chapel we see today was dedicated. Imagine, the great preacher Martyn Lloyd-Jones, renowned for his sermons at Westminster Chapel, stood right here, his words echoing through the halls of the newly unveiled Amyand Park Chapel. The dedication service was a historic event, marking a significant chapter in the chapel’s journey. Today, the chapel is a vibrant community center, offering weekly services, prayer meetings, and activities for children. Its legacy continues to inspire and unite many in the area, a testament to the enduring power of faith.
