Perhaps you did not know Edgware was once a village. Open fields surrounded it in 1934. It is very different today. The underground’s arrival changed everything. Open spaces became roads and building sites. Families moved into new houses.

Christians in this new area gathered for prayer. This group started Camrose Baptist Church. The church was officially formed on February 24 1935. Its first building was just a wooden hut.

Now, look at the main church building before you. It was originally planned as the church hall. Building began on July 27 1935. The project cost £3800. The building opened on February 22 1936.

In September 1976 an extension was completed. This gave the church its current hall lounge and kitchen.

Camrose Baptist Church is more than its building. It is about the people who gather here. Over the years many have joined this community. Some trained as Baptist ministers. Others served people in different parts of the world. Young people grew in their faith through activities and groups.

On February 25 2024 the church celebrated its 89th anniversary. They thanked God for His faithfulness. They looked forward to what God will do in the future.

Camrose Baptist Church is preparing to celebrate its 90th anniversary. The celebrations will be on the weekend of February 22 and 23 in 2025.

Camrose Baptist Church believes in God. They believe that Jesus Christ can reconcile us to God. They also believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate and applies to our lives.
