“Prosperous harbor.” That is what Anchorvale means in Chinese. Are you ready to explore this vibrant neighborhood?

Anchorvale is a subzone of Sengkang New Town. It sits comfortably between Sungei Punggol and Compassvale in Singapore. House numbers here start with ‘3’ and the Housing and Development Board completed these estates in 2001.

Anchorvale’s story is one of rapid development. Once, this area was mostly pig farms. But in 1994, urban planners envisioned a modern town. Sengkang was divided into neighborhoods. Anchorvale became one of them.

A significant addition to Anchorvale is Anchorvale Village. This mixed-use retail and hawker center opened on May 18, 2024. It links new housing blocks and offers a convenient hub for residents.

Anchorvale is also becoming an educational hub. Outram Secondary School will relocate here in 2026. This was announced by the Ministry of Education on January 16, 2024. Several primary and secondary schools are already here. These include Anchor Green Primary School and Nan Chiau High School.

Anchorvale has diverse places of worship. You can find the Puat Jit Buddhist Temple here. There is also the Nanyang Thong Hong Siang Tng Temple. The Chee Hwan Kog Temple and Sengkang Methodist Church add to this diversity.

Getting around Anchorvale is easy. The neighborhood connects to Sengkang Bus Interchange and Sengkang MRT/LRT station. Several bus services operate from these interchanges. The Sengkang LRT line also serves the area, with stations like Cheng Lim and Farmway.

Fun fact: Service 110 connects Anchorvale residents to Changi Airport. This bus route goes through the airport terminals. It serves as an alternate route for those living near Anchorvale and Fernvale.

Walking through Anchorvale, you will notice the modern housing estates. Anchorvale Court and Anchorvale Gardens offer comfortable living spaces. You can also spot Anchorvale Grove and Anchorvale Place. These estates are designed to create a vibrant community.

Anchorvale is more than just houses and roads. It is a thriving community with a rich history. From its humble beginnings as farmland to its current status as a modern neighborhood, Anchorvale continues to evolve. Its blend of residential, commercial, and educational facilities makes it a unique place to live and visit.

As you leave Anchorvale, remember its story. It is a story of transformation. It is also a testament to Singapore’s commitment to creating vibrant and sustainable communities.
