Masjid Daarul Rahman has served the community since its establishment on January 11, 1975. Founded by KH. Syukron Ma’mun, along with figures like KH. Antung Ghozali and KH. Masyhuri Baidlowi, Masjid Daarul Rahman was built on a foundation of community support and the generosity of donors like H. Mohammad Noor Mugni. The mosque initially resided in Kebayoran Baru on a plot of land spanning approximately 5,085 square meters before relocating to its current location in Cipedak, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. Masjid Daarul Rahman distinguishes itself through its unique blend of educational approaches. It integrates the modern pesantren system of Gontor Ponorogo, known for its emphasis on bilingualism (Arabic and English), with the traditional Salafiyah system, focusing on classical Islamic texts. This combined approach provides students with a comprehensive education encompassing both religious and secular knowledge. The mosque’s educational offerings extend from Tsanawiyah (junior high school) to Aliyah (senior high school) levels. Beyond formal education, Masjid Daarul Rahman also hosts Madrasah Diniyah, Tahfidz Alqur’an (Quran memorization), Majelis Taklim (religious study groups), and other pesantren activities. Masjid Daarul Rahman buzzes with extracurricular activities. All students participate in oratory practice in Arabic, English, and Indonesian, and engage in sports. Additional extracurricular options cater to diverse interests, including computer skills, martial arts, Quranic recitation, hadroh (Islamic music), and various sports. The mosque’s facilities reflect its commitment to education and community well-being. They include a mosque, student dormitories, offices, staff housing, a kitchen, school buildings, a field, a student cooperative, a library, computer and language labs, storage, restrooms, and a health clinic. Masjid Daarul Rahman stands as a testament to the vision of its founders, providing a nurturing environment for spiritual growth, academic learning, and community engagement.
